Orli supports the following operations on your Jira issues:

  • list user stories assigned to you
  • list sub-tasks assigned to you
  • Update the status of a Jira issue
  • Update the assignee of a Jira issue
  • Show the status of a certain Jira issue
  • display the list of project from a certain Jira instance
  • jira help issue status

Before running any of these commands, make sure

  1. Orli is connected to your Jira instance
  2. Your Discord user is connected to your Jira user

List the Jira user stories assigned to you.

You will see only the user stories that have your user as an assignee. Make sure you connected your Jira server to Orli before.

Command:

!orli-jira-list-stories

List the Jira sub-tasks assigned to you.

You will see only the user stories that have your user as an assignee. Make sure you connected your Jira server to Orli before.

Command:

!orli-jira-list-subtasks

You may only display the sub-task of a certain User Story by adding the User Story ID.

!orli-jira-list-subtasks <story_key>
E.g.:
!orli-jira-list-subtasks "OR-12"

Update the status of any Jira issue

You can update the status for a specific Jira user stories or Jira sub-tasks.

Command:

!orli-jira-update-item-status "OR-101"

Update the assignee of any Jira issue

You can update the assignee for a specific Jira issue. You can use the Discord mention to assign the Jira issue to anyone from the same Discord Server. Make sure the user who you mention linked his/her Discord user with his/her Jira user.

Command:

!orli-jira-update-item-assignee <item_id> <user_mention>
E.g.:
!orli-jira-update-item-assignee "OR-101" @anca

Show the Jira issue workflow

Any Jira project has a Jira issue workflow which describes how the Jira issue can flow from a status to another. One of the most popular is
To Do -> In Progress -> Done.
When you run this command, it will display the your Jira issue workflow.

Command:

!orli-jira-help-item-status

Show the status of a certain Jira issue

You can update the assignee for specific Jira user stories or Jira sub-tasks. By default, Orli will move the indicated Jira issue to the next available status. For example your Jira issue OR-101 is in the status “To Do” and the next status, in the configured Jira workflow, is “In Progress”. If you do not explicitly mention the status in which you want your Jira issue to transit, Orli will change the status to “In Progress”

Command:

!orli-jira-show-item-status "OR-101"

Update the status of a certain Jira issue

You can update the status of specific Jira user stories or Jira sub-tasks. By default, Orli will move the indicated Jira issue to the next available status. For example, your Jira issue OR-101 is in the status “To Do” and the next status, in the configured Jira workflow, is “In Progress”. If you do not explicitly mention the status in which you want your Jira issue to transit, Orli will change the status to “In Progress”.

Command:

Show the list of all Jira project from your Jira instance

Orli lists all the projects (archived or not) from your specific Jira instance.

Command:

!orli-jira-list-projects
